Fresh local organic vegetables for the 2018 growing season donated by Roots Down Organic Farm

Value: $275

Enjoy a half share for the 2018 CSA season! Enjoy fresh, local vegetables bi-weekly from June-October. Roots Down Organic Farm was started in 2005 by Jeff and Sue Klug. The Farm is located north of Gananoque, near Seeley’s Bay, in the heart of the Frontenac Arch Biosphere (link is external). Here, five eco-regions merge with the highest per acre biodiversity in all of Canada. Our fields were first cleared in the 1850’s and have been farmed ever since. Through the years, the farm has also provided many people with opportunities to learn about sustainable agriculture. When we first started, we saw the farm primarily as a way of providing for our own living. As Roots Down continues to grow, we are beginning to appreciate that the farm is contributing to the local community by providing employment opportunities in sustainable agriculture.
